Practical Outdoor Speedometer, by Practical Productions
Effective date: September 28, 2026

Summary

Practical Outdoor Speedometer does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The app has no internet permission, so it cannot send information off your device. It has no ads, no analytics, no user accounts, and no tracking.

Information the app uses

DataWhy it is usedIs it stored?
Precise and approximate location (GPS)To calculate your current speed and distance traveled.Your location coordinates are not saved. They are used live on your device and then discarded.
Motion and light sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, light sensor)To steady the speed reading and adjust screen brightness in daylight.No. They are read live and not saved.
Name of a connected Bluetooth headset ("Nearby devices" permission)To show you where speed alert tones will play.No. The name is shown on screen only and is not saved.

Information stored on your device

The app keeps a small local database on your phone that contains:

This data never leaves your device, and Practical Productions has no access to it. The app excludes it from device backups and from transfers to a new phone. You can delete all of it at any time by clearing the app's storage in your Android settings or by uninstalling the app.

Google Play services

The app uses Google Play services on your device to get location updates efficiently. Google handles that component under the Google Privacy Policy. Practical Productions receives no data from Google Play services. Depending on your system settings, Android's own location service may use network assistance (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to get a faster GPS fix. That is controlled by Android, not by this app.

Permissions

You can grant or refuse any permission, and you can change your choice later in your Android settings. Without precise location, the app cannot show your speed (approximate location is not accurate enough to measure it). Without the Nearby devices permission, the app still works; it may just be unable to show the headset's name.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
